Hi! My name's Nathan Douglas, and I'm a squishy generalist; I prefer SRE/platform engineering/DevOps-as-a-role but I've been fighting with computers for about 30 years now and I've done a little of everything. I tend to be the guy who debugs the Hard Problems, because I'm tenacious and a bit obsessive. I love DevOps-as-a-methodology because I love studying processes, creating value stream maps, identifying, planning, and implementing improvements, etc. But I also love the role because when something happens on a running server, I'm fairly good at staying calm, figuring out what's causing the problem, and fixing it.
