I could see this leading to more youtube style personalities on reddit, even stuff like streams could find a place on their user profile.

Javascript because its used for websites.

I can agree this is one good reason for Javascript. I am just worried about there being too many mine fields in the language for a beginner.

I think that Javascript is great for it's implementations in NodeJS, but yeah, I see two sides to the argument:

The syntax, semicolons, etc are minefields.

or

The syntax, semicolons, etc can teach good habit and save a lot of headaches in the future (missed a semicolon here, missed a semicolon there.. etc)

Out of curiosity what actually happened?

Yes it is

I guess instant feedback here means that you can preview the website as you build it? I initially thought it was for peer review

Sorry for that - I really didn't make that clear.

It seems like there is just one news feed for all content.

To complain about it?

Theyre only good for long flights when theyre packed with free movies. Other than that it doesnt matter. If theyre gonna make you pay to watch anything yeah, just get rid of it

This seems important

It's the opposite of important, thus it might be

What about the military? School of america trained bin ladin. Money flows from US govt contracts to saudis to isis

Interesting I never heard of Osama attending School of America.

Closest interaction I could find between him and US education institution was "Sheik Bakr Mohammed bin Laden, Osama bin Laden’s brother, made two gifts to the University in 1993 and 1994 to fund fellowships for advanced study in Islamic culture." ... "Harvard’s ties to bin Laden money have come into question before. In 1998, after Osama bin Laden was accused of the embassy bombings in Africa, then-University spokespeson Alex S. Huppé said, “It’s clear the Saudi bin Laden money is being put to good use here.”"

The "School of the Americas" was a U.S. Army operation originally based in Panama to train military from mostly Latin America countries. It's been criticized on various grounds, but bin Laden never went there.
