I'd like to get out of the matrix as much as the next guy, but I haven't found any reliable alternatives that actually provide equivalent services.
And in terms of degoogled phones, I like the idea, but the conspiracy theorist in me tells me, "hhhhmmmm, people are leaving the google / apple ecosystem, and the best phones out there for degooling is Pixel phones by google..."
That's like the best move Google made, their "free" services are the main driver for selling their phones.
You know what I hate? Those reels on social media telling parents how to raise kids, while using perfectly timed video clips of kids behaving themselves, sitting nicely on a highchair, picking freshly chopped fruits, etc.. good for them. In real life, I have to repeat myself 1000 times everyday they have to sit at the table and eat!
But at the end of the day, there’s nothing better than having kids.
The assumption that those managers have is that it’s easy to replace tech guys because AI is advancing, and a crap like that nonsense.
Funny enough, I got laid off last month, yes I’m a tech guy, now they apparently regret it because they are now scrambling to find a replacement to do the tech tasks!
TBH, I’m happy I got laid off because I’m finally building something I wanted to use.
Gas cars are great until you realize you have to replace the gas. Then you'll realize the cost of owning a gas car.
Once people realize they're literally burning the expensive gas they put in their vehicle, the game is over.
Also, gas is a limited resource which after you burn never ever comes back, so it is expected to get more expensive, while all the rare earth metals in batteries can be recycled into new batteries because when you use the battery, you aren't actually burning it away into nothing. You can even recharge it.
"I realized that I had more diversity and depth of skills than I knew about", I came to the same conclusion as well. I never knew I'd spend so much time architecting the framework I'm building myself, and I used to think I was just a coder. Now I'm a one man tech production agency.
