How's this new at all?

For an average Java dev (the silent majority, not the ones writing blogs, speaking at conferences etc.) it is new, exotic and mind-boggling I assure you.

> How's this new at all?

Nobody said it was new. Do you really think all developers know everything , every paradigms , techniques, frameworks in existence ? no .

Do you like FRP ? if yes then why would you complain about FRP vulgarization ? about yet an FRP blog ?

Some things might seem obvious to you. Well there are not obvious for everybody because they have other things to worry about in their respective domain. Don't be arrogant. If you like FRP then you want more people to embrace this paradigm. Something will always be new to somebody.

Reminds me about one stat I heard a few days ago: 90% of the drivers consider themselves better at driving than the 50% of drivers.

See the oxymoron?

I think it's the same in the programming land.

Google Wallet does not support Bitcoins, and I don't think they will support it anytime soon.

Google Wallet is just an easy way to manage your credit cards and, sometimes, pay using NFC.

I find your reply humorously telling -- wallet app means just that: a bitcoin wallet application. Google and it's associated services/applications are not the end-all be-all ;)

To be fair, capitalizing "Wallet" makes it pretty confusing. If someone said "You need a Mac + Mail app", I would assume they meant the OSX mail app and not just a general e-mail client.

Sorry, I'm German -> used to capitalize nouns.

Yes, I meant https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach....

Sorry, I should have double-checked before answering. Disregard my comment then :)

I'm right now under an H-1B visa...

I know it is not fair for americans to be unemployed because we foreigns are taking your positions; but you guys don't know what it feels to live in a third world country.

You can read all you want about poverty and violence, you can get shocked by the news and movies that touches that kind of topics. But you will hardly ever experience what it feels to live in real poverty. You don't know how it feels when your brothers or children are dying of starvation.

So I kept studying for years, stuck in a country were you can get killed anytime... became a freelance and later I was brought to the US under a H-1B visa. And guess what... it saved my life and my family's.

I've realized America is the kind of country that loves to exploit and get as much as possible from other countries (third world ones generally), and when it comes to give back some of that... well, you find this kind of reactions.
